CNY review

this CNY wasnt exactly that rosey, prosperous, red and laden with big ang paus.

Normally you would expect CNY to be full of good news and positive feelings.

But not this time. Sigh.

My uncle is doing badly in his business. He hasnt got anough funds to move to a proper place with better crowd flow. Now he has to work a job in the day and sell ikan bakar by night just to make ends meet. I really feel for him. With 7 kids at home it surely isnt easy to support the family. Some more my cousin has to work after SPM to help the family, partly because he couldnt get into Form 6 after SPM. Sometimes this kind of situation makes me realise how blessed I really am, be able to shake leg at home and still have everything I need, and to have the chance to study in NUS although I am getting borderline (kinda) grades here. Thank God for that. That reminds me that I MUST work harder this sem.

Sister's company laptop got stolen in a heavy downpour. Now she has to pay the accounting firm she is working in RM200/month for 3 years for the loss. She wasnt exactly highly paid to start off with; only about 2 years of working in Ernst & Young doesnt get you much. Before this dad was always questioning her how come she doesnt have any savings at the end of every month. Car instalments, petrol, parking are really taking a toll on her. Some more being an accountant is a shit job full of deadlines, dull work, tedious work and troublesome work. I am glad I didnt take accountancy after my SPM. Its a pity I cant do much to help her. But on second thought, maybe I could. Leftover money for my daily expenses in NUS should help her quite a lot. I hope I still have some money in my Singaporean account at the end of this sem then I might be able to chip in. The power of the Singaporean dollar. :)

Yesterday just received bad news. Double whammy some more. First, Chau's mum and sisters were involved in a ghastly car crash. Her sister had to be warded in ICU..blood clot in her brain. Read Syen's blog and knew that she is now outta ICU and stable condition. Shall continue to pray for your sis, Chau. We all love you!

Secondly, John's grandma passed away yesterday, heard from Chau. Now he has to be back in Singapore earlier because of the funeral. John, I really feel for you. May your grandma Rest In Peace.

Sometimes, I want to ask them how they are doing with real words outta my mouth, but also wary of the fact that I might evoke sad feelings in them.

Maths is Monday. I have studied quite a lot for it, lets hope that this test shall be a rosy one. At least, rosier than this CNY.
