that an average university student would know proper conduct and conversational ethics.
well, at least, more proper than the situation discussed below.
i am not sure if proper is the correct adjective in this scenario.
was on A2 bus after PC1432 test. sat on the second last row in the bus. beside me was a guy from C. In the last row were a group of people from the country I, guys and girls included. Some of them were standing near the rear exit of the bus, making up a cohort of 7 or so 'I's.
As usual they were a chatty lot. The whole bus could hear them. Their laughter and speech travelled through the air into everyone's ears. Loud and clear, very spirited.
I could sense the C guy begin to frown, looking back at them with an indirect glance and shaking his head. Obviously he was disturbed and appalled by the noise levels the 'I's were making.
5 minutes later into the ride, he couldn't bear it anymore. He turned around suddenly and interrogated one of the 'I's rather rudely: "So, why are you all so excited? are you getting full mark??"
Of course birds of the same feathers support each other. One of them replied: "Of course she is going to get full marks! She is very smart!" I could detect a strong drgree of sarcasm (albeit against the Chinese guy) in her voice and tone.
Then the Chinese guy fought back: "Then why are you all so happy and excited? Are all of the rest of you going to get full marks?"
Then a I guy replied back:"Of course we are happy! We are from India, and there is 1 billion of us, DUDE!" in an intimidating tone.
After that all I hear was the 'I's conversing with each other in their dialect that only they themselves understand. I presume they were ejeking the C guy. God knows how they were ejeking him.
I could also notice that the 'I' people use words like 'fXXK','puXXy' VERY VERY frequently in their conversation with each other. I couldnt really comprehend what they were trying to proof....perhaps trying to tell the whole world that they are modernised and westernised. Bah. Westernised? Maybe. Just a little bit because they are still 'I's. Modernised? ABSOLUTELY NOT, from their words and acts, they do not reflect how a modern man should behave: careful with words, tolerant, sensitive and mature.
This wouldnt have happened if:
1. The guy irritated was more tolerant of others' conduct and behavious. I mean, as humans, there is nothing wrong with expressing positive feelings such as happiness and excitement, apetah lg slepas test yg amt mengerikan tu?
2. The Instigators should not have tried to intimidate the Chinese guy with words like "there are a billion of us...". I mean, wth? Trying to assert their authority over others just by outnumbering other people? Trying to intimidate others and make people fear you? Get a life u punks.
You could just wonder, what good does it do, if a person is a top scholar, smart academically and blessed with a good brain, if he doesnt have good manners and conduct? Well I am not perfect either (means I am not jealous of them) but at least, I won't stoop low and talk in that way.
Imagine if I talked like that to the 5B gang or any other of my Mech friends.
I would be killed and slaughtered. LOL.

the week..
-Only had <4 hours of sleep for 3 consecutive days.
-Now when I see another book, I will scream. Although not having ice cream.
-Kena screwed by Maths although it was easy. :( However, things could have been much worse.
-Nevertheless, had a great time chatting with Mech gang after kena screwed.
-MLE paper was easy. I did my part and the Lord blessed me with a clear mind and a fairly straightforward paper. I thank Him.
-Visited a friend's room. It isnt everyday you would meet a female friend who is open to us like that. Thanks Syen. :)
-Room is getting messier by the day.
-MUST have a spring cleaning on friday night. Wishes to have a clean room to study over the weekend.
-I am beginning to picture the workload in front of me. No, not for exams. It is the post-exam workload. Have to catch up on Maths and also Physics.
-Luckily CTW assignment is almost done, at least the first draft is almost completed. Thanks Bor Yeow and Kai Wei for being good group members. :)
-Had late night talks with James. He reply kinda slow cos no taskbar on his laptop I guess. Nevertheless it is good to talk with friends and also listen to what they have to say. Thnks for your time PS.
-Begins to wonder if the SGD10 i paid to the gym is gonna be worth anything.
-Also thinking that not being drafted to stay in a hall from the start is not so much of a bad thing either. Even less time for studies if stay there.
-Am beginning to wonder the existance of the CCA points system. Wats the use of forcing ppl into CCA if they dun really enjoy what they do? Some more the CCAs here are not as that diversified as those in American universities; i.e not enough to cater for every taste.
-its 12 and I just woke up at 11. Missed Physics lecture cos wanted to rest more.
-Later got Physics mid term. Looks like this paper is going to be another one of those time-fighting papers.

To
Dear Apple of My Eye,
There are a few words I would like to say to you.
I wish I had the guts to tell you that I like you very much.
But that doesnt mean I prefer to be a couple with you.
It is true my heart longs for your companionship.
I want to be your guardian but would not prefer it to be the case.
I want to be the best boyfriend that you could have.
Want =/= prefer.
Suddenly I feel I have other priorities too. I knew it all along.
I would not want to risk our friendship just because of a cause without guarantees and promises.
I wonder will I lose you just like that if I continue waiting. On the other hand my previous experiences told me not to be too hasty with you.
If we were to be together, I want it to be one without regrets, a happy start, and with no ending.
Tak once reminded me that beauty is in the eyes of the beholder...irresistable.
Indeed it is.
The initial puppy feelings had gone. Now I find myself still thinking of you each day.
You dont make my heart go beating like what it used to do when I see someone I like.
Perhaps I am growing, nt only to like you but to love you.
My first online kiss is for you girl.
MUACKS~

Maths...objectives and all the answers are in front of me.
I can't even do well in it.
Screwed...
I wonder if I belong here in NUS, a land of geniuses and muggers. All of them seem to be doing so well.
This doesnt bide well at all.

John Terry....
jus watched the video of John Terry's horrific injury sustained against Arsenal.
Seriously I am a bit haunted by it.
Shouldn't have watched it since tests are coming later.
Terry,I hope that you will be OK in no time.
